Yes, I really did keep track of every location in every episode and calculate the mileage.
Some locations are completely unknown, and therefore not plotted on the map.  If I knew the state, but not the location within the state, I used the city closest to the geographic center of the state.
Note: this is just where the Impala went.  That’s why Season 7 is so short and it doesn’t show their trip to Scotland in season 6.

I’ve probably reblogged this before. Very relevant to my interests!
Milestogobeforetheysleep will probably resume regular schedule (1-2 posts per week) next week with the first episode of Season 4. Even though I know where we’re going (Season 8 FTW!), I’m going to enjoy the journey. Thanks for sticking with me!

Since my previous Supernatural map has proved to be popular, here is another one.
This one includes all of the known locations where the Winchesters travelled, and how many episodes took place in each state.  It doesn’t include locations that are just mentioned or shown in flashbacks because it is from the data I collected in tracking the Impala.  (I was also too lazy to add Scotland to the map, for that one dot.)
Again, click the source link to embiggen.
P.S. Maybe they avoid the South because it’s too hard to find Canadians who can do believable Southern accents?

Relevant to my interests! :D

No Rest For The Wicked 3x16

Last episode ended in Erie, PA.

This episode begins at Bobby’s house in Sioux Falls, SD.

Bobby figures out the Lilith is in New Harmony, Indiana, but they have no way of killing her.

So Sam summons Ruby to get her demon-killing knife. But Ruby insists that Sam has the power to kill Lilith on his own.

Ruby and Dean get into a fight over whether or not Sam should use his psychic powers. It turns into a physical confrontation, during which Dean steals Ruby’s knife.

Dean insists that Sam not give in to Ruby’s suggestions. He insists that they need to stop putting themselves in danger for the other.

Dean: You’re my weak spot. You are. And I’m yours.

Sam and Dean try to leave. But Baby won’t start.

Bobby took Baby’s distributor cap!

Bobby: Do I look like a ditchable prom date to you?

Dean: This is about me. And Sam. This isn’t your fight.

Bobby: The hell it isn’t. Family don’t end with blood, boy.

Sam, Dean, and Bobby all head to New Harmony, Indiana.

On the way, Sam and Dean jam out to Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive.”

Yes, Bon Jovi, Sam.

They have to fend off a posse of demons to get into the house Lilith has been occupying.  Bobby cleverly uses Holy Water sprinklers to do exactly that.

They get inside but can’t figure out where Lilith is.  Ruby shows up to get her knife back, and ends up getting possessed by Lilith, who lets in the Hellhounds.

The Hellhounds drag Dean to hell, killing him violently in the process.

Poor Sam! :(

Poor DEAN! :(

There’s Hell behind his eyes. :(

Time Is On My Side 3x15

Last episode ended in Milan, Ohio.

Sam and Dean head to Erie, Pennsylvania to investigate some weird dismemberments which were apparently performed by some dude who died in 1981.

They investigate at the morgue, then the hospital, mirroring each other unintentionally:

Perhaps Sam is subconsciously realizing that he might have to take over Dean’s responsibilities soon, and is trying his darndest to be just like him?

Sam figures out that the procedures were being performed by a surgeon from the 1800s—Doc Benton—who figured out how to become immortal by replacing body parts that “go bad” by stealing them from living people.

Bobby gets a lead on Bella. Dean heads to Canaan, Vermont, to go after her to get back the demon-killing Colt.

Rufus, an old friend(?) of Bobby’s, tells Dean where to find Bella. He also tells Dean Bella’s secret.

Back in Erie, Sam rescues a young woman from Doc Benton.

Dean confronts Bella, asking for the Colt, confronting her with her past—she killed her parents!

Dean heads back to Erie, resigned to hell since he can no longer hope to kill the demon holding his contract.

Meanwhile, Sam gets captured by Doc Benton, who needs a new eye.

Dean arrives just in time to save Sam’s eye!

Sam and Dean bury Doc Benton alive. He won’t be so immortal when he has no supply of replacement organs!

Turns out that Bella’s parents were killed by a demon deal she made 10 years ago. But now her time’s up. The demon holding her contract told Bella that she’d let it slide if Bella killed Sam, but Dean was too smart to let that happen. So bye bye, Bella!

Sam and Dean drive off towards Bobby’s.

Long Distance Call 3x14

Last episode ended in Benton Harbor, MI.

After receiving a tip from Bobby about weird suicides in Ohio, Sam and Dean head to Milan, Ohio.

They realize the man got a mysterious phone call right before his death, and go to investigate at the phone company.

They play bad cop and get the phone company tech guy to run a trace on the number, resulting in the exchange of smug glances:

They visit all the houses that had received calls from that number, trying to figure out what is going on.

They figure out people are getting phone calls from the dead, presumably from their ghosts.

Dean then gets a phone call from John! Sam can’t believe their dad would really call them, but Dean insists that it really was him.

Sam does all sorts of research and comes up blank.

Dean: “Gee, you’d think four years of Stanford education and a high school hookup rate of zero point zero percent would result in better results than that.”

Dean finds a possible answer: Thomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio. Could one of his inventions be connecting the spirit and human worlds?

John tells Dean a way to kill the demon that holds his contract, but Sam is skeptical.

Sam investigates the phone company and gets himself captured by the Colcatta, the monster of the week.

Meanwhile, Dean is still trying to follow John’s directions to kill the demon who holds his contract. He manages to walk right into a trap: the colcatta convinced (via phone call from the dead) random dude that Dean is the one who killed random dude’s daughter.

Sam saves himself and kills the colcatta. Dean and random dude manage to figure out that neither is who the other thinks he is.

They share a brotherly moment to finish off the episode.

Dean: Only person who can get me out of this thing is me.

Sam: And me.

Dean: And me? Seriously? That’s the best you could come up with?

Sam: Do you want a poem?

Dean: Moment’s gone.

update! :)

There will be more S3 coming soon!

I’ve been sidetracked by work and trying to figure out how to make my own .gifs and caps on my Mac, which won’t let me cap DVDs.

Thanks to some tips from Tumblerers, I’m working on using VLC mediaplayer, which will let me cap!

Once I’ve figured that out, expect each recap to have a .gif from me! :D

That is all! Thank you so much for following along as I map the journeys of Sam, Dean, and his baby! <3 ?

Ghostfacers 3x13

Last episode ended in Monument, Colorado.

This episode takes place in Benton Harbor, MI.

This episode chronicles the efforts of the Ghostbusters knockoffs—“Ghostfacers”—from Hell House 1x17 to investigate the haunted Morton House, which “restless spirits” visit only on Leap Day.

Sam and Dean also show up to investigate.

The Winchesters realize something truly sinister is in the house, and they try to get everyone to leave.

But it’s too late! One of the Ghostfacers interns, Corbett, has been captured by the creepy necrophiliac spirit.

Despite Sam’s best efforts, Corbett is killed.

However, after being inspired by his gay love for one of the other Ghostfacers, Corbett is able to use his spirit to vanquish the evil creepy necrophiliac spirit!

It is then revealed to us that everything we just watched was the Ghostfacers pilot that they are submitting to networks to try to get picked up.

Ghostfacers: “We just want to tell the world the truth.”

Sam: “Our experience, you know what you get when you show the world the truth?”

Dean: “A straight jacket. Or a punch in the face.”

Sam and Dean can’t have the world knowing what they look like, though, so they wipe the Ghostfacers hard drive clean with magnets.

Jus in Bello 3x12

Last episode ended in Broward County, FL.

This episode takes place in Monument, Colorado.

Bela calls in a tip that lands Sam and Dean in jail at Agent Hendrickson’s mercy.

Agent Hendrickson calls in his boss, who arrives by helicopter, but his boss turns out to be possessed.

Then Hendrickson’s boss shoots Dean and they realize he’s been possessed, and they try to exorcise him. But the demon escapes and he calls in a whole bunch of other demons!

Hedrickson shoots the sheriff when he tries to get the boys to a safe place, and Sam and Dean realize where the demon went: into Hendrickson.

They exorcise the demon, and Hedrickson sees the light!

Hendrickson: “I, uh. I shot the sheriff.”

Dean: “But you didn’t shoot the deputy.”  […]  “I owe you the biggest I told you so ever.”

Hendrickson lets Sam and Dean out, and they prepare the building against the demon army that is coming.

30+ demons show up and possess what seems like half the town.

Hendrickson: “Can you win?”

Dean: “Honestly, I think the world’s gonna end bloody. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t fight. We do have choices. I choose to go down swinging.”

Then Ruby shows up and offers to kill all the demons (including herself!) with a spell. All she needs is the heart of a virgin.  Which the secretary just happens to be.

They have a long discussion about whether or not it would be right to kill her before she interrupts them, saying she wants to sacrifice herself to help out her friends who had been possessed. Is it better to sacrifice one person to save 30 more, or gamble all of their lives on a plan that might or might not work? This is the dilemma referred to in the title of the episode.

But Dean won’t allow it. He has a plan. So Ruby leaves.

They let the demons in, wait until they’re all inside the building, then play the exorcism incantation over the loudspeaker system, exorcising all the demons at once.

Yay! They saved the day and all the people.

But then Lilith shows up and kills them all.

Just like Dr. Horrible, this episode goes out on a depressing shot.
